Impact Of Type Of Paper Material Used On Paper Bag On Our Environment
If we look at it carefully, the colour of the paper will be slightly different on every different order. This is because papers are made from tree. Every time when the paper manufacturer process the paper, each tree will be slightly different even thought they are of the same kind. During the production process, paper manufacturer will also mix in bleaching chemical so that it became white colour. Therefore we can actually draw a conclusion that the whiter the paper, it create more hard to our environment.
That is why we are now more encourage our customer to use Kraft paper bag if customer insist want to use paper material for their shopping bag. There are actually a lot of other choice for example we can substitute paper bag with non woven bag, woven bag, cotton bag, nylon bag, pp bag ( a bit look like plastic in material) and now one material also became very popular in Europe, namely Jute bag. European countries are generally more concern about the impact of packaging material used on our environment as compare to Asian people. This may due to the reason that they already started to observe the climate changes in the countries. The Winter now became cooler and Summer became hotter. We cannot see much of these changes in Asia as the climate generally remain the same almost every day. It is just that we can feel slightly hotter now in the month of June until August.
One thing great in Singapore and Malaysia is that government did do something to encourage people to use non woven bag or bring their own shopping bag while buying groceries in Supermarket. This can be obviously seems in some very famous hypermarket like Tesco, Giant, Carrefour, Shop & Save and NTUC. They are currently running some campaign like in certain day instruct shopper to bring their own non woven bag or paper bag and if they want to get a plastic bag for what they bought, then they have to pay for it. The response is very good and this has create some awareness to general public as to the important of greener planet.
Really hope that government in Asia countries will play more part in bring the awareness of protecting our mother earth! We shall be more concern whenever we need to ask for any paper bag or other carrier bag while buying thing. Let us play all our part together to save our earth!
