Generally paper box can be divided into a few categories. Firstly, normal paper box produced using art paper. A normal suggestion will be using 300gsm to 400gsm art paper with matt or gloss lamination on it’s surface after the printing. A normal varnish or UV coating can be applied also depending on the purpose of the paper box. This kind of paper boxes generally used in food packaging, gift packaging, apparel packaging, stationary packaging, shoe packaging, chocolate packaging and etc. It is generally used to put something that is not very heavy and small size. Different types of printing effect can be do on it, it depends on what is inside. Some business owner even consider to use kraft paper to produce their paper box because it look very natural and can remind consumer to protect our earth.

Secondly, handmade box or sometime people call it rigid box. This category generally regard as a more high class box because it is more solid in nature and high quality. People normally use it to put some product that is more expensive and higher profit margin reture. In market we can see a lot of it, for example watch box, mooncake box, chocolate box, high class shoe box, gift box, apparel box and etc. It is generally construct using what we called chip board. It can be divided into a few types, 600gsm, 1000gsm, 1200gsm, 1500gsm, 1800gsm or 2400gsm. It is more solid as compare to general paper box produced using art paper. The printing effect that can be applied on it can be the same as the above paper box produced using art paper. It is more expensive and need more workmanship to do. Therefore the production cost is lower in China and most businessman are getting it from China. Thirdly, corrugated paper box which is normally use to put some products that are more heavy in nature. We can also produce a 4 colours offset printing with or without matt or gloss lamination on it. It is generally divided into B-flute or E-flute 2 types. One is thicker and another is thinner. 

To decide which type of paper box you need to use, it really depends on what product you are selling. If you are selling normal product price ranging from $2 to $35, we will recommend you to use paper box produced by art paper or kraft paper.  If you are selling something more than $35 and above, then we will recommend you to consider to use handmade box. It is more presentable and look high class in it’s appearance.
